Shrek
Various info about the film
|
| |
| |
Lord Farquaad's castle is an obvious parody of Disney's castle and of
Disneyworld in general. |
| |
Many films and stories are alluded to in Shrek, including The matrix with its famous
kung-fu flying move frozen in mid-air, Princess Bride and all the other countless films featuring a wedding that has to be stopped,
the tale of The three little pigs and of the flute player, and most Disney's classics (Snow-white, Cinderella,
Peter Pan, Pinnocio). |
| |
Over 275 artists, computer animators, software developers and engineers at PDI/Dreamworks
spent almost three years completing this film. Dreamworks has also created Antz, another very good animation
film starring director and actor Woody Allen as the main character's voice. |

The excellent song I'm a believer was originally interpreted by The Monkees. |

Look carefully in Lord Farquaad's bedroom,
on the wall above his bed. There is a
copy of Boticcelli's painting Birth of Venus, but Lord Farquaad had Venus replaced in it by a portrait
of himself. |
