Fredegar (Fatty) Bolger: close friend of Frodo who stays in
his house in Buckland after Frodo leaves the Shire

Finrod Felagund: brother of Galadriel, he died saving
Beren and is the ancestor of Gildor, the Elf whom Frodo meets on his way to Buckland (Shire).

Frodo (Baggins): a Hobbit, son of Drogo and Primula Brandybuck,
Bilbo Baggins's adopted nephew, the Ring-bearer
|
|
Gaffer Gamgee: Sam's father, Bilbo's gardener and friend
|
|
Galadriel: an Eldar, owner of Nenya, the Elf-Ring of Adamant,
wife of Celeborn and sister of Finrod Felagund, also called Sorceress of the Golden Wood (to the Rohirrim who fear her),
Mistress of Magic (to the Dúnedain of the South).

Gandalf (the Grey or Greyhame): great wizard, his real name is
Mithrandir (to Elves), 'the Grey Pilgrim', Tharkún (to Dwarves), Olórin (in the West),
Incánus (in the South), guardian of the Elf-Ring of Fire (given to him by Círdan).

Gil-Galad: Elf-King of the Second Age, owner of one of the Three Elf-Rings of
Power, he formed the Last Alliance of Elves and Men. He perished in the final conflict and bequeathed his ring to his herald, Elrond.

Gimli: son of Glóin, member of the Fellowship

Glóin: father of Gimli, he was one of the twelve
Dwarves who hired Bilbo on the quest of the Lonely Mountain

Glorfindel: Elf-Lord who helps the
Hobbits during their flight to the ford of Rivendell, he is an Elven-Wise
|

Gollum: also known as Sméagol, he murdered
Déagol, stole the Ring from him and went to live in the depths of the Misty Mountains
(Year 2470 Third Age).

|
Isildur: Númenorean, son of Elendil, forefather of
Aragorn. He cut the One Ring off Sauron's hand with his father's broken sword and kept it, refusing to listen
to Elrond and Círdan's advice that it should be destroyed. Then, the Ring betrayed him. It slipped off
his finger into the Great river Anduin while was trying to escape an ambush. No longer invisible, he was seen and killed by Orcs.

Legolas: son of the Elf-king of Mirkwood Thranduil,
member of the Fellowship

Lobelia Sackville-Bagginses: wife of Otho,
unpleasant relative of Bilbo, suspected of having stolen his silver spoons while he was on Thorin's quest

Lúthien Tinúviel: Lady Elf, who lived a
tragic love with the man Beren. He was captured, so she went to rescue him from the enemy's dungeons. They
defeated Morgoth together, but Beren was later on killed by wolves while defending his city and died in her
arms. She forsook her immortality to follow him. Through their union, the blood of Elves came down into
humanity through the lineage of the Kings of Númenor and of Elrond. For more, read
